Thom Yorke Tuesday. The Universal Sigh edition!

Today marks the the physical release of Radiohead's new album The King of Limbs. TKOL was originally released as a download on the bands website back in February along with the music video for Lotus Flower. Aside from that there has been no band activity involving any press tours or anything outside of solo projects for the album. A lot of fans are mad that the album is too short and does not sound like the Radiohead of yesteryear thus revealing they're true colors. I know that the band is sitting on more new material and are finding new innovative ways of releasing the music so stop bitching you little bitches or go make your own music that you wanna hear. More evidence that there is more on the way go to The King of Limbs part 2. For even more evidence look down to the next paragraph.

In celebration of the physical release of The King of Limbs on CD and Vinyl in record stores the band has a special edition News Paper called The Universal Sigh that will be distributed world wide to select cites. San Fran was lucky enough to be on that list. In this post is me with a copy which sucks because they were only giving away one to each individual. Sorry to everyone that asked me to grab them one. As a peace offering I give you footage of Thom Yorke handing out the paper yesterday along with Stanley Donwood in London.

Are we cool? if not the band also announced a new single coming out April 16th of Super Collider and The Butcher.

This is it!

Hey y'all.

I want to start off by saying a big Thank You to everyone that has supported my work. Not in a million years would I think that people would enjoy my off the wall ideas. I admit and I know that I have had a very good run. I’ve been very blessed and fortunate in so many ways. In a lot of ways I have far exceeded my own personal expectations. I’ve got to work with some of the best artist in the game that I used to look up to as a kid and gain they’re respect. Not just that but the amazing opportunities that I have had with all of the outlets to get my work out there, it has been a dream come true and im very grateful.

Looking back on what I have done its cool to know that I have done it all on my own terms but increasingly I have been feeling weird about the current direction that I am going in. For obvious reasons I feel that the type of work that I do is not suited for the Concert Dance world anymore. Friends are always asking me about why don’t I try to Choreograph for “so and such company” and really put my work out there? These are real valid questions being asked to someone who is trying to make a living directing/choreographing. I’ve never had an answer aside the fact that I don’t care to work with them because I wouldn’t gain anything from it. I have nothing to prove to anyone and putting on my resume that I worked with “X” company means nothing to me which is not a healthy attitude. Far too long have I felt like a Dog trying to be a Cat and that the ideas that I come up with along with the type of collaborations that I want to pursue the Concert Dance World will no longer suffice for me. If your idea “innovation” is presenting works 25 years old with no social relevance this is not the place for me. I also don’t believe in the Dogmatic institutions any longer. I don’t believe in the pay scale or lack of. With all of the hard work that we all put into the creation and getting so little in return aside from performance opportunities its not worth it for me. Maybe when I was younger it was cool but a dream doesn’t pay the bills. As a Freelancer you cant live on performance opportunities and I'm bored with it all. So with all of this said I am leaving the Concert World behind. I am officially retiring from Choreographing, Directing, and Performing Concert Dance aside from current obligations that I must fulfill.

This news does not mean that I will stop creating. If anything I will be creating more with my newfound focus on the dance music video arts collaborative titled The Artist Group San Francisco (TAGsf). I’ve worked for four years building a name for the brand and myself. Now we have an impressive resume and all of the pieces in places to move forward. The evolution of TAGsf will now include events, hosting events, festivals and film. Soon you will be seeing us in festivals like Coachella, collaborating with artist like Flying Lotus or the Odd Future. TAGsf will be making photography books, DVDS and music while o performing in events for Google or FaceBook. I will be bringing in my resources of top-notch artist and performers from all different genres on a consistent basis. I’m very excited for the future and will use whatever time we have left to focus on the work that I love doing.

Keep your eyes peeled because i will be announcing our first event real soon.

peace.

How Would you Save Spiderman?

Everyone knows that the moment the idea to make Spiderman into a Broadway musical that the show would be fucked. Not even famed Tony award winning director Julie Taymor who is now on the outs with musical direction of U2's the Edge and Bono (a huge reason why she is out) could save this expensive nuclear shit rocket from exploding. There has been over 94 previews shows which is an award within itself but its not a trophy that you want to accept if you catch my drift.

The NYT did an article today on how would you save Spiderman? I have an answer.

Hire me! With me in the cast you would not have to worry about injury or fear of dying. I fell 25 feet from my balcony a few years back and did not break a bone trying to be like Spiderman's ass which come to find out was good practice. The only difference then and now with me actually playing Spiderman is that i would get paid to get dropped!

here are my qualifications

  1. Grew up reading Comic books
  2. Former Theater Thesbian (Thats right bitches. Glee aint got shit on me)
  3. Im a trained dancer Choreographer so i can make split minute decisions for how not to get dropped.
  4. I skateboard so falling is second nature for me.
  5. Was told that I have the best body ever so my ass would look fierce in the costume.
  6. I fucking fell 25 and did not break a bone. If that does not get me the job i dont know what will

Lets start a campaign to get me all up in the webs my faithful 18 followers!!!!!!
